Water efficiency audits have been performed over the last 8 years for several hundred commercial and institutional water customers for the Cities of Tucson, Scottsdale, Chandler and several Arizona Water service areas. Another project through the Arizona Department of Water Resources resulted in over 120 audits of Home Owner Association common areas in Maricopa County.
Patterns and trends in outdoor water demand have been investigated for the Central Arizona Project and Tucson Water, using remote sensing, billing records, surveys and assessor data. These studies focus on out door demand factors, including swimming pools and irrigated and artificial turf.
Integrated water demand/supply models supporting forecasts and scenario analyses have been developed for the City of Prescott and multiple planned communities. The models feature an intuitive user interface and is providing guidance to mayor and council’s water resources policy making.
End uses of water were identified for Metropolitan Water District in both single family and multi-family homes across Fullerton. A current project for the International Association of Plumbing Municipal Officials (IAPMO) focuses on determining average and peak flows in commercial water customers and how these rates have been affected by changes in water-using appliances, fixtures and equipment.
